Levice

It is a little village built on the hills near Bormida river; it doesn’t keep any relevant monument of its past.

However, the Sant’ Antonio Abate Baroque church is very quaint and worth visiting.

Few ruins of the old castle, which had to be rather impressive, remain on the highest point of the village, formed by old and typical little houses, that face winding and narrow alleys.

The patronal fair is in August, and the typical product cultivated here are hazelnut and honey.

History

It has been a feud of the marquis of Savona and later, like many other towns in the Bormida valley, it became a property of the Del Carretto family.
