San Damiano d’Asti

Located 15 km from the provincial capital (Asti), the town of San Damiano d'Asti is a town in the upper Monferrato, almost in the center of the Alfieri Hills, a territory on the extreme edges of the Langhe and Monferrato.

The built-up area spreads over a low hill (the highest point reaches 339 meters) on the left side of the Borbore stream and consists of three large villages developed around the historic center: Borgo Rondò to the north-east towards Asti, Borgo Piano to west and Borgo San Rocco to the south.

Among the vineyards of the surrounding hills are scattered the numerous hamlets of the village.

July in Parco Alfieri: Andrea Vitali

Andrea Vitali was born in Bellano in 1956. A doctor by profession, he made his debut in 1989 with the novel Il procuratore, which won the Montblanc prize for young novelists the following year.
