The building, used as a summer residence by Carlo Giacinto Roero, lord of Guarene, is a pure example of Piedmontese Baroque; it was built on the ruins of a medieval fortress and restored in the eighteenth century.
The Castello di Guarene, recently restored to its former splendor, is a five star luxury hotel located in the heart of Roero.
Its panoramic terraces dominate the Unesco territory: Alba, Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti and Monferrato, right up to the Alps.
Inside, great attention has been given to detail: the original castle’s antique furniture, tapestries and paintings alternate with furnishings from private collections.

A long corridor with brick vaults, which was the castle’s ancient escape route, leads to the SPA and the swimming pool that has been carved into the rock. The relaxing area’s panorama is simply stunning.
There are personalized treatments available for guests: Hammam, sauna, aromatherapy, color therapy, emotional shower, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, whirlpool, Kneipp therapy and salt grotto.

Italian-style gardens
A fountain, low hornbeam and boxwood hedges, ancient cypresses and yews decorate the Italian-style garden, inspired by the architect Filippo Juvarra, and the maze garden.
The green areas surrounding the Castello are connected to each other via orderly boulevards.
Restaurant
Head of the cuisine since March 2017, we find the talented chef from Alba Gabriele Boffa, born in1987, who has collaborated with renowned chefs all over the world.
The elegant restaurant room, also open to non-Castello guests, serves traditional Langa and Roero dishes, prepared with selected raw materials. The White Truffle from Alba is available depending on the season, the selection of local wines is impeccable.
Vaulted ceilings, pillars, landscapes and portraits of local historical figures along the walls embellish the settings.

Staying the the Castello’s charming apartments means reliving a period of local history, romantic moments from the past, without sacrificing comfort and luxuries.
There are 12 rooms, renamed with the names of historical figures, including 3 suites. The silk and velvet tapestry walls and precious marble finish and enrich the bathrooms.
Eight are located on the third floor of the Castello, four on the ground floor. Each is characterized by its own style and is equipped with home automation, LED TV, safe, minibar and wi-fi connection.
