Wine is a pure expression of the territory, and through its nuances allows us to grasp the essence of the land in which it grows, to retrace the paths of yesterday and today.
However, it is not necessary to be a historical winery to convey the story: sometimes the point of view of a young eye can find aspects to be told that have long been ignored.
The Cardelli winery, founded by Danilo Cardelli just 6 years ago, doesn’t call itself a traditional winery, but the result of the passion and interest of a young man, in love with his homeland: Albaretto Torre.
It seems that, in a not too distant past, most of the land surrounding this town was cultivated with vines, and that then almost all the plantations were eradicated to make room for hazel groves.
The locals still remember that Dolcetto, always available in the country houses, genuine and unpretentious, that everyone produced by itself with small plots of land: this is the goal of Danilo, who with the help of his wife Marika wants to give new life to this memory.
The vineyards
We are in Alta Langa, at a height of about 500 meters above sea level.
The 5 hectares of vineyard are exposed to the south, with a breathtaking view of the UNESCO hills; Danilo is mainly the one working the land, while Marika manages the administration and the network.
All the conditions ensure that the final product is of a high quality: the thermal excursion linked to the altitude, the constant ventilation characteristic of the area and the attention to the wealth of the plants that for the Cardelli family is a priority, give life to vineyards with a lower need for interventions than the average, making it possible to reduce the use of treatments to a minimum.
The wines
They produce 4 labels: Dolcetto d’Alba DOC, Langhe Bianco, Barbera d’Alba and Langhe Rosso.
For each one of them the winemaking process is based on obtaining a simple and drinkable wine, mirror of the territory in which it grows.
All the wines including Dolcetto, the pride of the company, age in steel in order to preserve their frankness.

The visit
The Cardelli family welcomes you in what is, in effect, their home, to involve you with passion and tell you about the development of their work.
The visit is free, and starts with a short tour of the spaces, accompanied by an explanation of their production choices.
In the summer, a walk in the vineyard will allow the visitor to closely observe the appearance of a healthy and genuine plant, respected and safeguarded in every season.
The tour is then followed by the tasting of their products, accompanied by variable snacks with local ingredients (breadsticks, cold cuts, cheese …).
When the weather allows it, the tasting is done in the outdoor area, with a magical view of the vineyards of the Alta Langa.
