In the small town of Treiso, surrounded by the green of woods and Nebbiolo vineyards, Cascina Alberta carries out its project with consistency and determination.
Defining the company as a “project” means connoting it as something more than just a production company: the idea comes from the common passion for the viticulture of two brothers, who in 2010 bought an ancient farmhouse, dating back to 1927.
A land of 19 hectares, of which 9 of vineyard and the remaining of uncontaminated nature, represents the foundations of the company philosophy, based on sustainability. From the beginning, the two pledged to recover the old vineyards through sustainable viticulture without the use of pesticides or weeding.
The surrounding space was in fact already used as vineyards of Barbaresco since 1979 – year of registration in the Register – and managed, until the arrival of the two, by multiple owners.
The production is now certified organic, operates in full compliance with individual vintages and with minimal intervention in the cellar: everything is handled internally, from the cultivation of the grapes to the bottling of the final product, making it a complete company to all effects.
Alongside the wine production, Cascina Alberta also offers the possibility of staying in one of the 7 suites located on the upper floor of the farmhouse, where guests can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surrounding hills.
To pursue the idea of an "integrated company", Cascina Alberta offers 7 suites.
The rooms have been created on the upper floor of the farmhouse with a conservative renovation, or with the aim of recovering the architectural merits of the old Piedmontese farmhouses.
Finely furnished with antiques from the Langhe tradition, each one has a balcony or terrace from which you can enjoy the UNESCO heritage hills, sipping the production wines.
All 7 suites have air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, stereo, hairdryer, WiFi and courtesy set.
N° of Suites
Their vineyards are like gardens, rich in luxuriant and wild nature.
The choice of organic comes from the idea of preserving the well-being of plants by trying to intervene as little as possible in soil management.
They practice green manure where necessary according to the seasons, they don’t use manure because they believe that the vines need deep roots.
During the rainy season they minimize treatments, both in terms of quantity of intervention and in doses of copper and sulfur, trying to stay at least 50% lower than the legal limits of organic certification.
The work in the cellar follows the philosophy of the Langhe tradition: long maceration in stainless steel and aging in large Slavonian barrels.
Every vintage is respected, looking for its peculiarities and expressing them at best in the bottle.
Also in Barbaresco they limit aging in small barrels, to preserve the classic Nebbiolo aromas and tannins.
