A few minutes from Serralunga d’Alba you’ll find Azienda Agricola Flavio Baudana, a family-run operation where the winery visit becomes a simple, direct, and very personal moment.
Welcoming you are Flavio and Grazia, with a spontaneous and attentive approach that many guests remember as one of the most beautiful aspects of the experience. The words that recur most often speak of family hospitality, carefully curated tastings, sincere advice, and products capable of leaving a mark.
During the visit you learn about the winery’s history, the daily work among the rows, and the choices that have shaped a production founded on respect for the land and the pursuit of quality.
The tasting thus becomes much more than a sampling: it’s an opportunity to meet the producers, listen to their story, and discover wines and hazelnut-based products that express the authentic character of this area of the Langhe.
During the warm season, the tasting area is the open space surrounding the winery, where you can sip a glass of wine while gazing out over the Langhe hills.
The winery shares its bond with the land through authentic wines and artisanal products, born from careful work and deep respect for nature.
A story that
begins in 2004
in Serralunga d’Alba
Founded about twenty years ago, Cantina Flavio Baudana carries forward the family's long winemaking tradition.
The winery was officially established in 2004, but in reality it was a crescendo of experience, knowledge, emotions, and challenge.
The land had always belonged to the family, but for previous generations it represented above all a legacy to preserve. The vineyard was cultivated because it was part of tradition, more than out of true winemaking passion.
As often happened in the past, the goal was to reduce work as much as possible, even resorting to herbicides and techniques oriented toward practicality. Flavio had a different idea: he wanted to enhance those vineyards and cultivate them with greater care, but as long as his parents were managing them it was difficult to change approach.
After his father's passing, Flavio had the opportunity to return to Serralunga d'Alba and dedicate himself to the Baudana lands.
Even though the vines already existed, the project began as a true fresh start. It was necessary to replace posts and wires, restore the systems, replant some parcels, and completely change the way of working the land.
Since then the production philosophy has remained the same: create wines capable of meeting first and foremost the family's taste, the same ones Flavio would choose for himself and his own table.
It is from this fresh start that the winery's story truly begins.
The logo also stems from this desire to give recognizable form to the project. Flavio chooses the glass, a simple and direct symbol of the culmination of all the work done in the vineyard and cellar: the moment when wine is poured, shared, and appreciated.
The Wines
A production that starts from the land and reaches the glass
Cantina Flavio Baudana was born from a simple yet ambitious goal: to create wines capable of moving you from the first glass. Recognizable labels, close to the family’s taste and to the character of the hills from which they come.
The glass is the culmination of work that begins long before tasting: among vineyard, waiting, care, and sharing. It is there that every choice finds its meaning, in the moment when wine is poured, tasted, and shared.
Quality is born from daily experience: knowing each vine, following its needs, and intervening based on the season’s progress, because every vintage is different and requires different attention.
In the vineyard, respect for nature translates into concrete choices: no herbicides, no chemical fertilizers, and grass mowing performed mechanically. Over the years this approach has encouraged the return of insects, birds, and small animals, making the vineyard a living environment rich in biodiversity.
From this care comes a range of wines that tells different nuances of the Langhe. The Chardonnay stands out for freshness and elegant aromas, while the Barbera d’Alba Superiore ages in wood with balance, without losing the pleasantness of the fruit.
The Langhe Nebbiolo expresses finesse and character. The Dolcetto d’Alba, among the most requested wines at the winery, wins over with immediacy and drinkability.
The 2021 harvest marks an important milestone in the company’s history, with the birth of the first Barolo DOCG bearing the Flavio Baudana signature. Alongside this is the Barolo DOCG Ceretta 2022, a limited edition that expresses the character and identity of one of the Langhe’s most prestigious vineyards.
Alongside the reds, the Moscato d’Asti DOCG finds a natural pairing with the hazelnut-based specialties produced directly at the winery, bringing together in tasting two flavors deeply connected to these hills.

Each bunch is selected directly in the vineyard and placed into crates to preserve the integrity of the grapes until pressing in the cellar.
Flavio and Grazia will guide you in choosing which bottle to open right away, which one to leave to evolve, the right temperature to serve it at, and which dishes to pair it with.
Every bottle is the result of fully manual choices, from harvesting in the vineyard to the aging process.
Products
Hazelnut specialties: creams, sweets, and small treats to take home
Simple recipes, selected ingredients, and artisan processing give life to genuine specialties, to taste at the winery or take home as a memory of the Langhe.
Hazelnut Spread
The hazelnut cream was born almost by chance, from the meeting between Grazia and a master of French haute chocolaterie, who arrived at the winery during a visit to Serralunga.
From here takes shape a simple and delicious recipe, prepared with Piedmont hazelnuts, cocoa, and a few other selected ingredients. It is lactose-free and preservative-free, soft, velvety, and perfect for spreading on bread, accompanying desserts, or enjoying by the spoonful.
Roasted hazelnuts
Crunchy and naturally rich in vitamins and minerals, they are perfect as a snack or as an ingredient for desserts and kitchen preparations. Careful processing preserves their aroma and quality.
Salted hazelnuts
From toasted hazelnuts comes an even more delicious version. A light salting enhances the natural flavor, making them ideal for an aperitif or snack.
Gluten-free and lactose-free hazelnut cake
One of the iconic desserts of Piedmontese tradition, prepared with finely ground hazelnuts and simple ingredients: 50% hazelnuts, eggs, sugar, olive oil, and a pinch of vanilla.
The soft texture and intense aroma showcase the quality of the raw materials.

The sweetness of the hazelnuts comes to life in simple, delicious artisanal specialties rooted in the winery’s work.
Experiences
The experiences are suitable for couples, families, groups of friends, and travelers staying in the Langhe
The visit begins with meeting the producers who tell you the story of the winery and the daily work in the vineyard.
The conversation unfolds naturally: from tying the vines to caring for the grape clusters, up to harvest, every intervention follows nature’s rhythms and the season’s progress.
Upon request, you can continue among the Nebbiolo vineyards surrounding the winery. Walking among the rows you observe a living environment, where insects, birds, and small animals find space thanks to respectful vineyard management.
Upon request, you can also visit the hazelnut groves and discover up close a cultivation that is part of the winery’s life.
The tastings
Tastings take place in two dedicated rooms, for a maximum of 20 people, in an intimate and relaxed setting.
Each experience is accompanied by a rich platter of local products with salami, toma cheese, pancetta coppata, prosciutto, honey, cugnà, the typical Piedmontese grape sauce, and breadsticks. The pairings showcase the winery’s wines and the hazelnut-based specialties.
After the last glass, if you wish, you can linger a bit longer in the property’s green spaces, with views of the Langhe hills and the village of Castiglione Falletto.
Many return over the years even just to say hello, testament to relationships that, born during a tasting, over time transform into genuine friendships.

itineraries
A few suggestions to go beyond the classic destinations
The tasting can become the starting point for experiencing the Langhe more leisurely. After the winery visit, you can build the rest of your day among restaurants, walks, outdoor activities, and small itineraries in the surroundings.
From here you can set out to discover Serralunga d’Alba, a village recognizable by its elongated shape and its castle, among the most distinctive in the Langhe.
If you’re looking for something less conventional, leave the main roads and move among the hills, crossing vineyards, ridges, and panoramic viewpoints. Between Serralunga and Castiglione Falletto you can follow the farm roads that pass among the rows: the landscape changes continuously, the view opens up, and the hills follow one another in multiple directions.
For an even more off-the-beaten-path itinerary, you can head toward Roddino or Sinio, along secondary and unpaved roads. Here the Langhe become quieter, among hazelnut groves, woods, and isolated farmhouses.
Cycling in the Langhe
Upon request, you can stroll through the hazelnut groves to discover the secrets of growing the Tonda Gentile, immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the hills, and experience the region’s agricultural tradition up close.
