Inside the Relais San Maurizio you’ll find a small tasting paradise: the Truffle Bistrot. A “casual dining” restaurant that offers a typically local cuisine.
Starting with the raw materials, often produced in the Relais gardens or otherwise selected, when possible, exclusively among local producers.
Giampiero Vento, a Chef of Sicilian origin, started working in the culinary world when he was still quite young.
He has numerous professional experiences which began in his home city Palermo; he then moved on to Calabria, Trentino Alto Adige, Lombardy, Paris, finally reaching Piedmont.
Piedmont, a fertile land from a wine-food point of view, becomes the chef’s inspiring muse.
His philosophy is to enhance the territory’s raw material and its products of excellence, without forgetting his background and his Mediterranean roots that enrich his cuisine at the Truffle Bistrot.
A meeting of flavors, colors and fragrances of two so apparently distant lands, which in fact, however, blend harmoniously to impress our guest’s palates.
Today, more than ever, there’s a need to go back to a functional nutrition that aids physical balance, while respecting one’s biorhythm: thus simple dishes, yet with exceptional tastes and flavors.
In the Langhe, a land of traditions and culinary excellence, the Truffle Bistrot stands out as a workshop that is not limited to preconceptions and stereotypes.
In a world where food is increasingly the victim of manipulation, the Bistro every morning collects the ingredients for its dishes directly from the gardens and greenhouses of the Relais property.
Here, you’ll be able to try light lunches, casual dinners, tasting menus and traditional recipes, created without worrying about the number of starts will be attributed while totally interpreted by the Chef’s freedom.
Wine by the glass
Inside the Relais San Maurizio you’ll find the Restaurant Truffle Bistrot.
The Relais was created from the renovation of an old Renaissance monastery, located on top of a ridge, northwest of Santo Stefano Belbo.
For over ten years now its 36 rooms and suites, deriving from monastic cells, represent a summary of the values of high-level hospitality: comfort, art, culture and technology.
The philosophy of Relais is to unite modernity and tradition, on a journey to rediscover one’s well-being and the art of “fine living”.
