After careful restructuring of the nineteenth century Cascina Bonelli farmstead, the Relais Villa d’Amelia houses an elegant Gourmet Restaurant, awarded in 2010 with a Michelin star.

The facility is located in a panoramic position amongst vineyards and hazelnut groves. Privacy and tranquility are, as a result, guaranteed.

The town of Benevello is close by, Alba is 13 Km away.

The Restaurant

The warm and welcoming restaurant room is illuminated by large windows overlooking lush gardens and surrounding hills. The outdoor area allows you to enjoy the external environment during the warm seasons.

The feeling with the location is immediate: flavors, aromas and presentation make every dish particularly special.

The restaurant is therefore the ideal place for those who seek refinement in a charming dwelling and the relaxed atmosphere of a family environment.

The cuisine

Leading the kitchen staff is Chef Damiano Nigro, who left his native Puglia region to work with some of the most famous international chefs.

In Benevello since 2006, his cuisine combines classic flavors from the Piedmont tradition with the sea and his land of origin.

Careful attention to using only absolute quality products is the key element behind every dish. The raw materials are actually chosen personally from trusted producers.

The menus

The menus follow the seasonality of products and are conceived to combine creativity and research.

The choice can be “à la carte” or a variety of tasting menus (€ 85,00) and small tastings (€ 65,00).

The specialties

Meats selected from the Cuneo area farms, fish from the Puglia and Liguria region seas and buffalo mozzarella from the region of Campania, which satisfies even the most demanding of gourmets.

Among the classic dishes always found on the menu: Fassona sirloin, roast pigeon, lamb loin chops, large spaghetti from the “Antico Pastificio Benedetto Cavalieri” with seafood.

Don’t miss out on the risottos.

The sweets and bakery are personally handled by Giovanni Nigro, Damiano’s brother. Mandarin chocolates, hazelnut tiramisu and chocolate soufflé with Moscovado and celery ice cream are his specialties.

The winery, which can be visited, was made among the walls of a small, desecrated chapel. Here you’ll find the best labels from local and foreign producers.

There’s also a wonderful selection of grappas and spirits.

The Gourmet Restaurant is located inside the Relais Villa d’Amelia.

Created after the restructuring of a nineteenth-century dwelling, it offers 37 elegantly furnished rooms and suites with all the comforts.

The two Suite Deluxe with views overlooking the Alps and the Suite San Luigi, found in the ancient family chapel are the most prestigious rooms.

A wellness area is available for guests, including an external heated swimming pool.

7 hectares of park with panoramic views, a bar and lounge with beamed ceilings, oriental rugs and a grand piano are all available for guests.

Villa d’Amelia is situated in an area that offers cultural excursions, outdoor activities, international events, truffle hunting with real trifulau (local truffle experts).
