There is a place, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage hills, where wine comes to life among ancient stones, the voices of tradition and the gentle breath of summer.

It is Canelli, the city of Moscato and the Underground Cathedrals, which for two days becomes the capital of taste and conviviality.

A widespread event, an open-air festival, an invitation to get lost – and find yourself – among glasses of wine, evocative views, encounters, music, stories and flavors.

Discovering the historic Classic Method of Piedmont, in addition to the guided tour inside the UNESCO World Heritage Underground Cathedral, you will have the unique opportunity to explore the complexity, elegance and deep structure of this great sparkling wine, discovering the different expressions of the grape varieties and production methods through 4 exceptional types.

Guided tasting of 6 wines from 3 different production areas of Canelli DOCG (a classic and a riserva version for each area) paired with savory dishes.

In addition to the exciting journey through the historic UNESCO World Heritage Underground Cathedrals, you will be presented with the Map of Canelli DOCG, created by Alessandro Masnaghetti, a fundamental tool for understanding the terroir.

It will be a journey into the evolution and different characters of Canelli DOCG, explored both in its classic version and in the prized Riserva version.

Seven sparkling wines for tasting inside the winery that wrote the most important pages of the Italian classic method.

Paired with cream puffs and Roccaverano DOP cheese.

In collaboration with the Consortium for the Protection of Asti and the Consortium for the Protection of Acqui Wines.

Piedmontese aromatic grapes tell the story of a territory unique in the world, capable of expressing itself in different styles without ever losing its identity.

A sensory journey where the scents of orange blossom, peach, and red fruits will accompany a tasting path between tradition and modernity: no fewer than 7 sparkling wines for tasting, inside the wineries of the Italian classic method that wrote the most important pages.

The event

Canelli city of wine is not only a calling card of our city, it is the celebration we offer to ourselves and to our guests, visitors and tourists, to toast, to make culture and, perhaps, to rediscover a Canelli that is still partly unknown.

Culture, tourism, music and folklore are the key elements that characterize the event culminating in a series of activities aimed at promoting the area, typical products.

In the town center there will be a market of regional excellence from the area where artisans and producers can showcase their specialties.

Voluntary associations, organizations and spontaneous groups, inspired by the spirit of the initiative will hold art parades, painting exhibitions, photo exhibitions, sports activities and fun activities for children.

Conferences and meetings will be held with cultural figures from Italian regions and foreign countries, along with cultural activities aimed at celebrating the recognition of the Canelli site in “The Vineyard Landscapes of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato” as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its historical and landscape context linked to vine cultivation, a setting that has its heart in the Historic Cellars of Canelli – Underground Cathedrals.
