The church of Saint Mary

in Vesime

Vesime – It was built near the cemetery, maybe in the V century. Apart from the facade, rebuilt in a rococò style, the rest still has its original features.

In the apse there’s a painting, representing Christ Pantocrator, probably of the fourteenth century. Among the paintings, interesting is the one of the Virgin appearing to a sick man (1750).

Beautiful is also the fourteenth-century statue of the Virgin with the Child, in wood, that was carried in procession to ask protection for the harvest. Restored and changed many times, the statue still has a definite medieval shape.
