The Ghiga family has very deep farming origins, roots that go back to the early 1970s in Castiglione Tinella, an area particularly suited for the cultivation of Moscato.
It was Mario Ghiga who started an initial activity, vinifying a large part of his own grapes to produce musts intended precisely for the production of this wine.
2010 was a very important year for the farm because Enrico, Mario’s grandson, resumed the winemaking of grapes on his own to produce Moscato d’Asti DOCG.
Large investments were needed to modernize the winery, but years later that choice has proved successful.
Today, Davide, Enrico’s younger brother, also works at the winery and together with his mother Angela and uncle Giovanni manage all phases of winery life, from the cultivation of the vineyards to the commercial promotion of the wines.
The Wines
Discover one of the most distinctive wines of this land.
The Ghiga winery specializes in the production of the so-called Moscato tappo raso, the more genuine and artisanal “version” of the DOCG wine that contrasts with Asti Spumante, an industrial product of multinational corporations.
Moscato d’Asti DOCG Ghiga is the result ofall the grapes harvested from the different vineyards. Each one brings a specific characteristic to the final product: aroma, freshness, alcohol content, sweetness, color, etc.
Separate processing of each vineyard is carried out each year.
The musts are then assembled before fermentation in proportions that change from year to year, depending on the characteristics of each must.
At Cantina Ghiga you will also find the other iconic wines of the area: the Langhe Favorita, Barbera d’Asti and Monferrato Dolcetto.
The Last Bunch, a white wine made from dried grapes, and the rosé Volto Nuovo complete the offering.
Finally, designed for younger children and enjoyed by older children as well, you can taste the Grape Juice, a drink made from the pressing of grapes, with no alcohol or added sugar.

Visits & Tastings
Only the producer can let you discover all the secrets of a wine!
By going to visit a small winery, you have the opportunity to come into direct contact with the people who interpret the land to produce their wines.
The visit to Ghiga’s begins with a walk through the vineyards to understand how Enrico and Davide set up work in the vineyard.
In fact, they have committed to eliminating the use of herbicides, and of course this means more manual labor but also different plant health.
We continue to the winery to learn about the production process of Moscato tappo raso, which uses a different technique from other Langhe wines.
To finish, you will be guided in wine tasting by the producers themselves.
It is the most engaging moment, where with your senses you can appreciate the fruit of all that has been shown to you.
