Cascina Sòt is the name of the ancient Langa farmstead, which according to some sources dates back more than 400 years.

Finely renovated, with an elegant tasting room, it is now home to the winery of the same name run by the Sanso family.

Maurizio, the young owner, assisted by his parents-in-law Silvana and Leonardo and sister Lorena, will welcome you to the farm, for the tour and guided tasting.

The vineyards

The vineyards are located between the lands adjacent to the winery, among the hills of Bricco San Pietro and San Giovanni, with a variable South/South-West and South/South-East exposure. The soil is calcareous clay.

Respect for the vineyard and for the environment are realized through the targeted use of pesticides, inter-row and under-row grassing.

The Wines

The wines of Cascina Sòt are born from a family tradition deeply linked to the land and its rhythms.

Each label is the result of careful work in the vineyard and in the cellar, where artisanal care and respect for the territory guide every choice.

The range authentically expresses the identity of the territory: from the great structured reds with long aging potential like Barolo DOCG, to the more immediate and fragrant interpretations of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, through to the whites and rosés that recount the freshness and finesse of local grape varieties.

The Barolo DOCG labels

The Barolo Bricco San Pietro DOCG represents the winery’s most distinctive expression: alongside it, the Barolo DOCG del Comune di Monforte d’Alba, an authentic expression of the territory destined to age magnificently, and the traditional Barolo DOCG.

These are labels that express themselves best when paired with structured and rich dishes, such as braised meats, roasts, and red meat stews, but also with aged cheeses.

The younger red wines, such as Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d’Alba, and Dolcetto d’Alba, offer a more immediate sip while remaining consistent with the company philosophy: authenticity, drinkability, and a strong bond with the territory.

2028 will mark the arrival of Barolo DOCG Annunziata, a vintage that promises to best express the identity and depth of this cru.

The Spumante Bianco Dosaggio Zero Metodo Classico is obtained from selected Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes; it presents a refined and complex bouquet, supported by a fine and persistent perlage that enhances its freshness and vivacity.

Perfect when paired with raw fish dishes, such as tuna sashimi or salmon tartare, it also expresses itself with elegance alongside more structured preparations, such as mushroom risottos or roasts of white meat. Also ideal as an aperitif, it is capable of winning over the most demanding palates.

The white wines and the rosé wine

The range is completed by the Rosato Tramonto, delicate and fragrant, the Piemonte Chardonnay, fresh and balanced, and the Langhe Nascetta, a rare indigenous grape variety that expresses the most contemporary and curious soul of the Langhe.

In the Vineyard

The cellar is in a unique setting and allows you to follow the entire winemaking process

We are in the heart of the Barolo DOCG production area. Cascina Sòt is located in a panoramic and secluded position along the road that leads from Barolo to Monforte d’Alba.

Maurizio’s grandparents already worked here as sharecroppers.

With the purchase of the Cascina and the desire to orient production exclusively to viticulture, Cascina Sòt took on its current identity.

In the cellar they make the most of natural resources such as the winter cold and the low temperature of the water in an ancient well to control temperatures during the winemaking process.

Discover the Langhe territory by walking through the vineyard

On request, weather permitting, it is possible to take a walk in the vineyard. It is an opportunity to discover the territory, experience the rhythm of nature and enter the family dimension of our work
