Canelli city of wine

The weekend of September 21 and 22 will see the 25th edition of “Canelli, City of Wine,” a now historic event that, for two days, transforms the town where Italy’s first Metodo Classico sparkling wine was born into the heart of a celebration that is certainly pride of belonging, but also a determination to open up and share.

The event “Canelli the City of Wine” is based on tastings of typical local products and products from Italian and foreign regions that will join the initiative.

Culture, tourism, music and folklore are the key elements that characterize the event culminating in a series of activities aimed at promoting the area, typical products.

The wine festival, which will focus mainly on our Canelli DOCG, will see a series of appointments for wine lovers and food and wine lovers.

There will be no shortage of moments of fun, including the involvement of children.

The event

Canelli city of wine is not only a calling card of our city, it is the celebration we offer to ourselves and to our guests, visitors and tourists, to toast, to make culture and, perhaps, to rediscover a Canelli that is still partly unknown.

Culture, tourism, music and folklore are the key elements that characterize the event culminating in a series of activities aimed at promoting the area, typical products.

In the town center there will be a market of regional excellence from the area where artisans and producers can showcase their specialties.

Voluntary associations, organizations and spontaneous groups, inspired by the spirit of the initiative will hold art parades, painting exhibitions, photo exhibitions, sports activities and fun activities for children.

Conferences and meetings will be held with cultural figures from Italian regions and foreign countries, along with cultural activities aimed at celebrating the recognition of the Canelli site in “The Vineyard Landscapes of Piedmont: Langhe-Roero and Monferrato” as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thanks to its historical and landscape context linked to vine cultivation, a setting that has its heart in the Historic Cellars of Canelli – Underground Cathedrals.
