Cascina Vano is a family-run winery in Neive, in the heart of the Langhe, which has been producing high quality wines such as Barbaresco for generations.
The original farmhouse where the winery stands dates back to 1880, and has always been owned by the Rivetti family.
The progenitor was Carlin Rivetti also nicknamed “Vano“, hence the name of the company.
Between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century Carlin was in possession of some vineyards that he worked with care and dedication, and thanks to his gig he was very fond of, he brought his grapes to the markets and to the larger companies that were already making wine.
After Carlin, his son, Gepin took over the farmhouse, tending and expanding the vineyard.
Gepin’s son, Beppe, in 1960 transformed the reality into a winery, thus implementing the transformation of grapes into wine, making the first reds including Barbaresco.
In 1990, Beppe’s son Bruno Rivetti joined the company and became an oenologist at the Alba wine school.
In 2019 Bruno is joined in the company by his kids Beatrice and Marco, who carry on the now centuries-old family tradition.
The Wines
In the cellar the excellence of the Langhe area is represented
As white wines we have Moscato d’Asti and Langhe Chardonnay, while the reds are Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba Superiore Carulot, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Barbaresco.
The latter is produced keeping 2 subzones separate, Canova and Rivetti, to best enhance the peculiarities of the terroir.
The production method involves a manual harvest, traditional vinification with fermentation and maceration in steel tanks.
Aging and refinement take place in large Slavonian oak barrels.
For several years the winery has participated in the “The Green Experience – Coldiretti” project, a certification for those producers who adopt practices aimed at protecting the environment and conserving biodiversity.
The initiatives that Cascina Vano has adopted over the years for sustainability include the use of renewable energy through photovoltaic panels and the collection of rainwater for treatments in the vineyard.

Visits & Tastings
The tasting is aimed at discovering the territory and its interpretation through the proposed wine
The best way to get to know a wine is to drink it with the person who produced it.
A family-run business like that of Cascina Vano allows the consumer to appreciate the uniqueness of a wine, desired, conceived, cultivated and produced by the same people.
The visit includes a tour of the vineyards surrounding the company, a tour of the cellar with a visit to the winemaking and aging rooms, and ends with the tasting of wines paired with typical products such as cold cuts, cheeses, and hazelnuts.
