Holidays
Cascina Amalia is located in one of the most evocative natural sceneries in the Langhe, made up of vineyards, as far as the eye can see, and ancient villages.
Here, the green and brilliant hills in spring are tinged with warm colours in autumn: these are the months in which a suggestive morning fog gives the impression of suspending the campaniles, towers and castles in the distance.
It is the land of the Nebbiolo vineyard from which the Barolo DOCG is obtained, produced by the company in two versions.
A wine that bears in its name the idea of nebula, the autumn frost that settles on the dark berries, giving them an almost cloudy appearance.
Amalia Cascina in Langa is the starting point for discovering the Langhe
The Boffa family started their project by taking over a farmhouse which dates back to the early twentieth century.
The Cascina is located a few kilometres from some of the most characteristic villages of the Langhe UNESCO: Monforte d’Alba, included in the list of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages, Serralunga d’Alba with its French donjon-style castle, and Alba, capital of the White Truffle.
Whether you choose this destination to taste the company’s wines or to stay in a charming bed & breakfast, Amalia Cascina in Langa is the ideal base, where everything is designed for the relaxation and comfort of its guests.

The Wines
Enhancement of individual crus and separate wine-making methods to offer products with unique characteristics
In order to offer consumers a product with high standards, all the processing stages, from the vineyard to the winery, are followed by the family with the advice of oenologist Piero Ballario and agronomist Gianpiero Romana.
Knowledge of the production areas, so as to get the best out of them.
The work in the vineyard is not only attributable to the cyclical annual intervening processes, necessary to give the vines longevity and health.
Understanding each production area and its characteristics, knowledge which has been gained over time, has led to the best that each vineyard can offer.
This rural wisdom, consisting of traditions and cutting-edge production techniques, has made it possible to identify the maximum qualitative potential and to sensibly implement the efforts necessary to achieve it.
The production
The company’s wines are the Piedmontese classics, including the particularity of the Langhe DOC Rossese Bianco; a vine wide-spread in the past in the Piedmont and Liguria areas and which had almost disappeared.
Today it is found in small quantities in Monforte d’Alba and in the neighbouring Roddino.
Cascina Amalia also offers Dolcetto d’Alba DOC, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, Barbera d’Alba DOC, also available in the Superior version which is obtained from the best grapes in the Sant’Anna vineyard and aged in wood.
There are two versions of Barolo enhanced by the choice of making wine by the individual crus
This is the case of the Barolo DOCG Le Coste, followed in 2013 by the production of the Barolo DOCG Bussia Vigna Fantini.

THE BAROLO DOCG
Nebbiolo grapes find their maximum expression in this wine, pearl of Italian oenology worldwide.
The separate vinification of the grapes harvested from the individual crus allows to enhance the features of the various terroirs.
Barolo DOCG Le Coste di Monforte
This is the first Barolo cru by Amalia Cascina in Langa, produced exclusively with grapes from the Le Coste di Monforte d’Alba vineyard, characterized by marly-clayey soils rich in limestone.
It yields one of the best expressions of Barolo’s elegance with regard to structure, softness and pleasantness.
The maturation takes place in large 2600 litre French oak barrels for about 32 months, followed by a period of bottle ageing.
Barolo DOCG Bussia
Obtained from the best grapes that the Fantini Vineyard in the Bussia area can offer; this version with its ruby red colour is full, enveloping and balanced.
The Bussia cru, an icon recognized worldwide, with south-west exposure and at an average height of 450 meters, is unique due to the presence of the Diano Sandstones from the Tortonian period.
The maturation takes place in 26 hectolitre French oak barrels for 32 months, followed by aging in bottles.
