Chiese e cappelle di Langhe e Roero

Little country churches, cathedrals, colorful chapels: the hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato are rich in religious history, often associated with the pilgrimage of the famous Salt Road.

The medieval heritage of these hills is recognizable in the many fortresses, towers and castles, but it should also be sought in the many small Romanesque churches that dot the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato.

We’re talking about the small country churches perched on ancient pilgrimage paths, imposing cathedrals in the squares of large towns, but also chapels that have been refurbished and have now become major tourist attractions-such as Tremlett’s colorful ones.

Often embellished with frescoes of the Monregalese school in the Gothic style, the churches of the Langhe tell the stories of these lands.
