Persiana Jones
Persiana Jones formed in 1988 under the name Persiana Jones and the Cursed Shutters (inspired by the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) at the behest of Silvio (vocals and guitar) and Beppe Carruozzo (bass) along with Gianni Rossebastiano (drums), after the disbanding of their previous group, Winding Logs, active from 1985 to 1987.
Originally from Canavese, an area north of Turin, they decided to play music to “fight the boredom of their home area,” as they like to mention in their official biography[2].
Born for fun, they distinguished themselves not only for being among the first to sing in Italian, at the time an unusual language for English-bound Italian alternative groups, but above all for their shows full of irony and fun,[2] where the concert is a pretext for partying. Immediately the group expanded, first a tenor sax (Giampiero Ferrando), then a trumpet (Alberto Bena) and a second guitarist (Roberto “Bob” Marini), and between 1988 and 1989 the group, aided by its curious name, beat the length and breadth of the Turin area making a name for itself.
Midway between punk and ska music, between some 60s classics and rock, they were immediately supported by a good number of fans who began to follow them to all concerts.
To their credit more than 1,200 concerts, they have played not only in Italy, but also in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
In February 2023 they enter the studio to record their new album.
June 2023 sees the release of the new album “A Fantastic Life.”
