The land is a work of art: perhaps the highest, the most choral work that humanity has expressed…
Terre Alte takes you to discover a sensational territory and does so in the most natural way there is: on foot.
Pleasant hikes are spread among the hills that have received UNESCO World Heritage status. A rich land of great natural and cultural interest, still unknown to mass tourism.
We start from the Bassa Langa, that of Barolo and Barbaresco, characterized by vineyards so neat they look like gardens, passing through the Roero, an evocative territory full of magical places with its broadleaf and chestnut forests and fortresses, to theAlta Langa.
And it is here, on the quiet ridges of these hills, that one can discover botanical gems, such as beautiful orchid blooms, ancient sandstone hamlets, and scenic paths once trodden by merchants and smugglers.
All walks are accompanied by Roberta, a profound connoisseur of the area and a certified tour and nature guide with a license from the Piedmont Region.
Thematic and cultural walks
Roberta organizes walks to discover the most picturesque places in the area.
Thematic walks
Hikes follow seasonal rhythms, and so it is that in spring we admire the first blooms, in summer we go out in the moonlight, and in autumn the foliage is the star of memorable shots.
There is no shortage of truffle hikes following the trifulau and his dog, trips leading to village festivals, and long crossings from the hills to the sea.
Usually the outings end with a convivial moment, a merenda sinoira, following interesting visits to wineries, dairies or companies producing typical Langa goodness.
Walks and culture
Territory and culture are inextricably linked; Roberta demonstrates this by giving interesting insights along the way.
Sometimes the hikes are specially designed to follow in the footsteps of the protagonists of works by writers born in these hills, such as Beppe Fenoglio and Cesare Pavese, or to stop at castles and Romanesque churches rich in centuries-old frescoes.
Geology and culture thus merge into one and enrich the days of all those who decide to join Roberta.
