La Piola Restaurant is located in Piazza Risorgimento, known as Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) by the people of Alba.

It was founded in 2005 as part of a project of the Ceretto family, renowned wine producers since 1937, in collaboration with chef Enrico Crippa.

Thus two separate restaurants, La Piola and Piazza Duomo, were born, sharing the same entrance: la Piola representing the traditional soul, with its culinary pillars typical of Piedmontese cuisine, and Piazza Duomo where maximum freedom is given to the chef.

A place that fully represents the harmonious fusion of good food, wine and art, immersed in a cozy and convivial atmosphere.

The Restaurant

A taste of authentic Langa cuisine

The intuition of the two restaurants in one building was born out of the Ceretto family’s desire to want to enhance their territory from a gastronomic point of view as well.

The project materialized with the opening of the three-starred Piazza Duomo and La Piola, a restaurant focused on typical Langa cuisine.

La Piola is designed to pass on the culinary tradition of flavors that have been passed down for centuries and is the Italian ideal of the trattoria.

Its name has its roots in Piedmontese dialect; in fact, piola is the village tavern where typical dishes are eaten and generous glasses of wine are drunk.

Art and wine

If taste and art come together: exploring terroir and artistic creations

In recent years, the restaurant’s wine cellar is increasingly becoming a reference point for local wines, particularly the Langa and Roero areas.

There is a constant search, from established to emerging producers, to discover the different styles and terroirs that characterize the area.

Further distinguishing feature of the restaurant is its connection with art, recurring in the rooms where we find two works by Kiki Smith and 39 signature dishes created by contemporary artists.

A meeting place between food and wine and art, with the aim of finding the right blend of contemporary and traditional Langa.
