The Gianni Doglia winery is a family-run business located in Castagnole delle Lanze, a town that, thanks to its cultural, landscape and food and wine peculiarities, entered the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy in 2023.
The decision to remain a small company has allowed them to devote attention to the entire production chain, which takes the form of the production of wines typical of Monferrato, a unique territory with which the Doglia family has a special bond.
The philosophy of the owner, Gianni Doglia, sums it up this way:
Monferrato identity in a bottle, my way.

An unforgettable experience to discover the secrets of wine directly from the producers, including tastings and untold stories, in an authentic atmosphere of conviviality
A story that
begins in 1947
in Castagnole delle Lanze
The Gianni Doglia winery has been producing wines in Castagnole delle Lanze for more than three generations.
In 1947 Eugenio Rivella known as Genio, after working a few years as a sharecropper on a farmstead in his hometown of Castagnole delle Lanze in Frazione Annunziata, decided to buy it to make his dream come true: making wine from grapes from his vineyards.
Grandfather was always assisted and supported by his minor daughter
Marisa who, through her stubbornness and resourcefulness, was her grandfather's right-hand man and still represents the soul of the company.
In the 1980s, management of the company passed to son-in-law Bruno who, together with his wife Marisa, continued the family business with renewed enthusiasm.
The history of the Doglia household continued in 2000 with the entry of son Gianni who, after graduating from the Alba School of Enology, began his professional career with the company.
In 2001 Gianni first vinified Moscato d'Asti from family-owned vineyards.
Over the years, Gianni has not only established himself as a reference point for Moscato d'Asti but has also become an interpreter of the great red wines of Monferrato: Barbera d'Asti, Grignolino, Ruché and Nizza.
2013 marked the arrival of his sister Paola to the company to take care of the administrative and commercial side.
In 2022 Gianni was selected by Gambero Rosso's I Vini d'Italia guide as Viticulturist of the Year: a prestigious recognition that Gianni dedicates to his family and to Monferrato, the land that has always welcomed him.
The Wines
The family's connection to the land is encapsulated in the wines of the production
The company produces about 110,000 bottles annually, of which about 60,000 are Moscato d’Asti DOCG and represent the excellence of Monferrato.
Here, the presence of the sea that receded millions of years ago has left a special fragrance in the land that gives unique characteristics of aromaticity and freshness to the wines produced.
Moscato d’Asti DOCG
An excellent dessert wine that goes perfectly with dry pastries and fruit cakes, but nowadays we tend to untie it from the more classic pairings to approach it also with cured meats, cheeses and oysters: an interesting alternative capable of surprising.
Moscato d’Asti DOCG Canelli Casa di Bianca is produced with grapes from a small plot always remembered by the name of Casa di Bianca, located in Annunziata di Castagnole delle Lanze.
In addition, due to its moderate alcohol content, it is a welcome thirst-quenching drink in the summer months.
Barbera d’Asti DOCG
Gianni Doglia presents two types of this wine, the Bosco Donne and the Genio versions.
Bosco Donne is an easy-drinking wine that goes well with almost any traditional Piedmontese dish.
Barbera d’Asti DOCG Superiore Genio is enveloping, warm and round, aging in small wooden barrels for about 18-24 months.
Nizza DOCG
From vines about 50 years old, within a plot of about one hectare located in the municipality of Nizza Monferrato, this wine represents the best selection of the Barbera grape variety.
It is suitable for main courses of red meat, game or well-aged cheeses.
Its taste is structured, broad and velvety, with a harmonious balance between freshness and smoothness.
The other wines
Other local wines complete the production, which can be tasted during the different experiences offered by Gianni and Paola Doglia.
To mention them all: Barbera del Monferrato DOC Ca’ Musa, Piemonte Merlot DOC, Piemonte DOC Cortese, Piemonte DOC Rosato, Grignolino d’Asti DOC, Ruchè of Castagnole Monferrato DOCG, Monferrato DOC Bianco and Piemonte DOC Dolcetto, Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo and the wine made from overripe grapes Ma, ideal at the end of a meal as a meditation wine.

Visits & Tastings
Gianni, Paola and Silvia welcome guests to tell their company's history and production philosophy
The family intends to make the winery experience not only unique on a sensory level, but to convey with simplicity the values that matter: passion for the work, love of the land, respect for nature and family unity.
The tastings are preceded by a visit to the modern winemaking and aging rooms where there is no shortage of references to the vineyard, the family business and, of course, Moscato, defined by Paola as the wine of cheerfulness.
