The trattoria is located just outside the village of Monteu, at the entrance to a road full of woods and chestnut trees in the middle of the Roero. It is a historic business, established in the early 1900s.
After a long and major renovation of the building, the wondercul adventure of the Forno family began in 1998.
At the helm of the trattoria now is the second generation, namely Fabrizio, who joins his mother Paola in the kitchen, his wife Flavia in the dining room, and his father Bruno in charge of the cellar and suppliers.
Here, typical Piedmontese cuisine comes to life through dishes that enhance seasonal and zero-mile ingredients, offering an authentic experience that will make you feel the fllavors of Piedmont in every bite.

A curiosity: Paola’s father and Fabrizio’s grandfather, was the ‘grande Torino’ footballer Eusebio Castigliano, who died in the plane crash at Superga on 4 May 1949

Here you can experience authentic Piedmontese cuisine with a tasting trail for those who want to be advised or the classic a la carte menu for those who are clear about the dishes they want to taste.
The osteria also boasts a rich selection of local cheeses, a varied dessert menu and creamy artisanal ice creams prepared by Fabrizio.
In season, the menu is enriched with fresh and prized ingredients such as mushrooms, asparagus, Carmagnola peppers declined in four different preparations, and of course the renowned White Truffle of Alba, a true celebration of the flavors of the areas.

The real gem is the underground wine cellar, a must-see, with over 200 labels mainly from the Langhe and Roero and some rarities from other regions

The main room, dominated by an elegant open fireplace, is the beating heart of the tavern: here, during the colder months, the living fire creates an intimate and comfortable atmosphere, enveloping guests in a warm embrace.
The two smaller dining rooms, on the other hand, provide a private and cozy environment, ideal for those seeking more intimate moments of sharing.
Located in the garden, the gazebo provides a peaceful corner, immersed in the surrounding nature, perfect for those who wish to taste the flavors of Roero in the open air.
