The farming origins of the Marrone family were originally at Cascina Carlot, in the hamlet of Madonna di Como, in the municipality of Alba.
The winery is now based in La Morra, specifically in the Annunziata hamlet, among the UNESCO hills, places known worldwide and capable of offering breathtaking views and food and wine excellence.
Views Common in the Collective Imagination
The road leading to the winery offers the panoramic views most frequently chosen to represent this territory.
From here, in just a few minutes you can reach the villages of La Morra, Barolo, Verduno, and Alba, the capital of the White Truffle.
Hospitality is provided directly by the owners: father Gian Piero, mother Giovanna, and their three daughters Denise, Serena, and Valentina.
Parking is available both adjacent to the winery and nearby in the church square.
Guests are guided through the winery visit and the discovery of the many wines in production, with the opportunity to enjoy special experiences such as cooking classes, dinner among the barrels, and viticulture lessons.
Marrone’s wines are aged in cellars located in the Annunziata district of La Morra

A story that
begins in 1957
in La Morra
For over a century: four generations of passion, tenacity, and hard work. A story of tradition with an eye always on the future.
Marrone Pietro was born in 1887 into a family that already produced wine grapes.
In 1910, with the approval of his father Edoardo, Pietro began cultivating some vineyards using techniques that were revolutionary for the time: reduced production to increase quality and the decision to eliminate wheat sowing between the rows.
These decisions proved successful: the grapes were the finest in the village, and in a short time all the vineyards were converted to modern vineyards.
The second generation saw Carlo, born in 1924, working alongside his brothers Paolo and Michele and his sister Mariuccia.
A difficult period due to the outbreak of World War II, which took Carlo away from the vines and his family.
With the end of the world conflict, the enthusiasm of recovery was rewarded by business growth in both quantity and quality.
The farmhouse became increasingly beautiful, so much so that people in the village began calling it Cascina Carlot, Carlo's farmhouse.
With the third generation, represented by current owner Gian Piero Marrone, the time was right to make themselves known to the world and to plant native white grape varieties: Arneis, Favorita, Moscato, in addition to Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, and Nebbiolo for Barbaresco and Barolo.
Valentina, Serena, and Denise, daughters of Gian Piero and Giovanna, represent the fourth generation, each holding specific roles in the company.
Supported by Marco, Serena's husband, they ambitiously lead the company toward new goals, looking to the future while never forgetting the tradition and teachings passed down from their ancestors.
The Wines
A family of passionate wine producers to offer you the wine excellences of the Langhe
The winery offers 19 labels, and the wines are made from the most renowned Piedmontese grape varieties: Arneis, Chardonnay, Favorita, Moscato, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo.
Barolo DOCG
Among the many labels available for tasting, Barolo DOCG is the pride of the winery.
Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, this variety is delicate and difficult to cultivate: its slow ripening, which often extends into November, means it is frequently harvested among the autumn mists.
A grape variety that carries in its name the idea of nebula, the autumn frost that settles on the dark berries, making them appear almost hazy.
The Pichemej version represents the flagship of production, gathering the best grapes from the finest vineyards.
A perfectly balanced red to enjoy immediately or age over time as a meditation wine to share with friends.
An austere and important product that pairs well with the most significant dishes of Piedmontese tradition.
Langhe DOC Arneis Tre Fie
Among the whites, Langhe DOC Arneis Tre Fie, three daughters in Piedmontese dialect, is a clear reference to Denise, Serena, and Valentina.
It is made from Arneis grapes, a typically Piedmontese variety rediscovered in the 1970s.
It stands out as a versatile, fresh wine excellent throughout the meal, superb as an aperitif, and unmissable with white meat and fish dishes.
