The concentrical Diano d’Alba district is located on a hilltop which is among the highest in the Langhe zone.
Here, dolcetto grows untiringly in the best exposed slopes, becoming an important economic resource.
The features of Dolcetto di Diano d’Alba or Diano d’Alba Superiore foresees that, on putting the product on the market, as from the 1st September of the year following the harvest, the wine must present the following characteristics:
Colour
Ruby red.
Bouquet
Winey and pleasantly characteristic.
Flavour
Dry, pleasantly almond-like and harmonious with moderate acidity and good texture.
Minimum alcohol content: 12,5% by volume;
Minimum total acidity: 4,5 per thousand;
Minimum nonreducing extract: 23 g/litre.
