The Church of Saint Sebastian

At the base of the Albaretto della Torre tower stands a small gem of sacred art: the Church of San Sebastiano. This elegant building is simple only in appearance, as its interior harbors a surprising wealth of artistic treasures.

Built in 1769 and restored in 1976, the church is a perfectly preserved example of the spirituality of the Langa region, which remains closely tied to the local community and its traditions to this day. This is where the people of Albaretto celebrate the religious festivals and observances that are most dear to them. But it is also the perfect place for anyone seeking a moment of contemplation, peace, and silence.

Even today, the steady chimes of its bell tower accompany daily life in Albaretto, continuing to mark the hours with the same solemnity as in days gone by.

The simple yet refined 17th-century façade is a perfect example of Piedmontese Baroque: it consists of two architectural orders separated by an entablature, with pilasters, niches, and a Serlian window that lends a sense of verticality to the composition.

The bell tower, whose foundations date back to the 16th century but whose belfry dates to the 17th, stands behind the church. Unfortunately, it is currently in a state of disrepair.
