The photo exhibition “Echoes of the Gothic Bormida” will open on March 23 at 7 p.m. at the former Filanda in Monesiglio and close on March 24.

A “premiere” in anticipation of being able to see the works again in other places in the area later this year.

Merche Moriana, a 30-year-old Spanish artist, has focused on pictorial photography, a field in which she has long excelled by exhibiting and receiving awards in international contexts, to make the Gothic and late Gothic art of the Bormida Valley contemporary and more attractive.

In Monesiglio, he coordinated the Staged Photography Art Residency, which was made possible through a collaboration with the Alta Langa Cultural Park, and hosted five artists-Deborah Zuanazzi (Italy), Inanis (France), Michela Chiarizio (Italy), Germán Luque (Spain) and Rocío García Pérez (Spain)-in a mixture of languages, energy and expressive skills.

Merche Moriana affirms:

“One factor that unites us pictorial photography artists is the inspiration and study of art history. The use of technology and digital art has allowed us to reach out to younger people as well, who have shown interest and participation. Not only that, with this residency we were able to break the barrier from solitary creation of works and share moments of co-creation and community in which to feel accompanied.”
