A story that
begins in 2016
in Barolo
Vite Colte is a reality made up of people who strongly believe in a concept of shared quality
Vite Colte traces its roots back to the 1980s, when it was born under the name Terre da Vino.
In 2016, a major corporate evolution led to a name change and the launch of an ambitious growth project.
Today the winery brings together 180 winemakers on 300 hectares of vineyards, with a model based on shared quality and strict production standards.
Vite Colte's cooperative approach guarantees winegrowers compensation based on the area planted, incentivizing careful cultivation and sustainability rather than maximizing production.
Vite Colte combines ethics and quality through production and management practices that embrace three basic pillars: social solidarity, economic sustainability and environmental responsibility.
In recent years, the company has implemented a number of concrete initiatives that reflect its commitment to a more equitable and sustainable future.
The Kitchen
Authentic flavors while respecting traditions
Diego and Carlotta offer two gastronomic proposals to explore the encounter between local flavors and Vite Colte wines: a la carte lunch and a tasting menu combined with a visit to the winery.
Lunch a la carte
A menu to be discovered, including creative salads and dishes that tell the heart of Piedmont: from raw Fassona meat to vitello tonnato, via tongue and anchovies with green bagnetto verde, classic ravioli al plin, and tajarin 30 yolks with sausage ragout or Barolo sauce.
The meats are strictly by Boasso, the butcher shop in Gallo Grinzane that is a guarantee of absolute quality.
From the cellar to the table!
An experience that allows the winery visit to be combined with a tasting lunch accompanied by DOC and DOCG wines from the production.

The Wines
A vast vineyard heritage, experienced winemakers and state-of-the-art tools
Vite Colte tells the story of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato through a prestigious collection that embraces the entire Piedmontese wine universe: from the great classics such as Barbera d’Asti, Barolo and Barbaresco, to a diverse range that includes wood-aged reds, organic wines, whites, sparkling wines and desserts.
The labels, inspired by the works of Cesare Pavese – a writer from Santo Stefano Belbo – pay homage to the culture of the area.
A country is needed. A country means not being alone, to know that in the people, in the plants, in the earth there is something of your own, that even when you are not there, it stays waiting for you.
The symbol of this philosophy is the Barbera d’Asti DOCG Superiore La luna e i falò, produced since 1987 as a manifesto of the company’s identity.
The Superbarbera project
Started in 1997, it defines a strict specification that guides every stage of production, from pruning to harvesting.
This is a protocol shared with members to encourage sustainable farming methods.
The final blend of barbera grapes from vineyards with different microclimates results in wines with the perfect balance of structure and fragrance, capable of winning over experts and enthusiasts alike.

Architecture and art
A dialogue between wine and territory, while respecting environmental sustainability
The wine shop and winery are connected thanks to an ambitious design by architect Gianni Arnaudo. The building, inaugurated in 2000 at the foot of Barolo’s most prestigious crus, has received accolades in numerous modern architecture publications for its design that integrates advanced technology and respect for the Langhe terroir.
The winery design combines tradition and modernity through the clever use of laminated wood and glass, recalling local rural architecture.
Characteristic elements such as wooden trellises, once used to dry corn, create a functional ventilated wall, while the pillars of the educational walkway evoke vineyard poles, paying homage to the region’s farming roots and winemaking tradition.
The cultural and artistic journey
Inside, visitors can admire the permanent exhibition The Seasons of Wine, created by Italian street artist Maupal.
In a lively and didactic style, the artist recounts the stages of winemaking through eight illustrations that guide visitors from crushing to barrel aging to sparkling methods. Each drawing celebrates the art and technique behind wine making.
The exhibition route, which runs for nearly a kilometer, also includes a photo exhibition dedicated to winemakers.
Eight panels tell the story of their work in the vineyard through the seasons, from winter pruning to late harvest, illustrating the key stages of viticulture and paying homage to the manual labor behind each bottle.
A space for events and meetings

The gently curved lines of the winery roof echo the rolling hills of the Langhe
Designed by Gianni Arnaudo the architecture blends modern and traditional elements
Wine tourists can explore the winery by following a striking elevated walkway made of steel wood and glass This path which winds for about 1 km both inside and outside connects all production areas in a harmonious way
