Le Strette is one of the pioneering companies of the rediscovery of the Langhe DOC Nas-cëtta of the Municipality of Novello, its historic homeland.
The Cellar is run by the brothers Mauro and Savio Daniele.
The daily work in the vineyard and in the Cellar is aimed at enhancing the territory linked to local autochthonous vines that are often little known or almost disappeared.
In one of the most renowned areas for the cultivation of the Nebbiolo grape the production includes 4 labels of Barolo, Barbera, Dolcetto.
The Nas-cëtta of the town of Novello
A long process, that of the recognition of the Nas-cëtta, in which Le Strette has contributed significantly.
The production is about 9000 bottles / year, to which are added 1500 bottles obtained from the Pasinot cru, historical vineyard and cradle of the Nas-cëtta.
Pasinotti is the historical hill of the Nas-cëtta on which there’s the oldest vineyard dated 1948.
The area includes a “collection vineyard” of 600 strains selected from over 30 healthy clones from three different vineyards. This Project was born in collaboration with the University of Turin.
Here the company has also invested since 2014 in a project for the restoration of the vine areas, aimed at enhancing its territorial particularity.
In the Cellar it is possible to taste and buy the Nas-cëtta, four labels of Barolo, the Barbera d’Alba Superiore, the Dolcetto d’Alba and the Langhe Nebbiolo.
The Barolo Bergera-Pezzole and Corini-Pallaretta come from two interesting crus of the Novello municipality. The Bergeisa cru is found in the municipality of Barolo.
The fourth type of Barolo is obtained from the assembly in variable proportions of the three company crus, so as to enhance the complexity of this wine.
It will be the owners who receive you and who personally conduct the visit.
The visit, weather permitting, takes place in the vineyard and in the premises of the new winery completed in 2002 and in the historic one that today hosts the tasting room.
The Cellar is a mix of modernity and functionality. It is excavated in the tuff, magmatic rock that allows to maintain the ideal and constant conditions for the maturation of the wine.
The visit takes place through the 4 well-connected separate rooms.
From the steel tanks where Nas-cëtta di Novello and Dolcetto await bottling, you’ll stop in the aging rooms in wood where Barbera, Langhe Nebbiolo and Barolo age.
From here you’ll reach the bottling and packaging room.
The company is also certified according to the National Quality System of Integrated Production – sustainable quality.
