“
The Art of Imagination
“: great contemporary art returns to Costigliole d’Asti from April 6, 2024 to June 2, 2024.
The castle will host an art exhibition of international significance, featuring world-renowned artists.
The castle (of which the Municipality of Costigliole d’Asti is part owner) returns to host important cultural initiatives after troubled years due to problematic events created by a private individual who is well known in the cultural sphere.
The will of the City of recreating the glories of the past ( was the marital home of the Countess of Castiglione ) when Asti was more important than Turin and the bride of Emperor Frederick II and mother of his son Manfred, was from Asti, found the consent and willingness of thearchitect Alberto Bongini which coordinated various artistic and cultural associations and institutions by proposing a high-level review entitled “The Art of Imagination“.
The exhibition was conceived and organized by theFly Art Cultural Association, which runs the castle’s art season, and Turin’s new Antitesi Art Space Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.
At this early part of the year, this is the third review offered by the group revolving around Architect Bongini.
One in the beautiful and ancient Cuneo town of Benevagienna and the second at the headquarters of the same association, Fly Art in Turin, both recently completed.
The exhibition, curated by Roberto Borra and Alessandro Merlo with art direction by Alberto Bongini with Karina Lukasik, opens Saturday, April 6, at 5 p.m. and will remain open until Sunday, June 2.
It is sponsored by numerous art and cultural institutions, including the Mug 2 Museum in Massa, the Gierut Documentary Art Committee in Pietrasanta, the Ugo Guidi Museum in Forte dei Marmi, the Brancati Cultural Movement in Scicli, Axtra Digital Art in Turin, and the International Art Group “The Artists’ Pool” based in London.
The exhibition presents the works of 40 artists from different regions of Italy and about one-third from abroad: England, Egypt, Scotland, the United States, Poland, Switzerland, Iran, China, Japan and Denmark.
Among the artists on display, eight are nationally and internationally renowned historicized artists, including Joan Mirò, Alexander Calder, Ezio Gribaudo, Francesco Casorati, Alberto Giacometti, Piero Ruggeri, Lorenzo Alessandri, Alfredo Sficco, and Piergiorgio Ravinale.
The exhibition offers a wide stylistic variety, with works ranging from figurative to abstract, from art photography to video art.
Among the artists in the exhibition are Ugo Mattioda and Sergio Manfredi, two outstanding pastelists representing en plein air painting, which is now on the verge of extinction but much appreciated even by contemporary audiences.
“The Art of Imagination” represents a unique opportunity to admire works of great quality and expressive modernity, and to reflect on the many forms that contemporary art can take.
The invitation is open to all art enthusiastsas well as anyone curious about new trends in contemporary art.
