Pasquetta, the Langa of wonders and the snack at the foot of the Castle

Terre Alte offers you a no-stress Easter Monday, away from the crowds and boring car lines .

An evocative route that, starting from the Belbo Valley, will take us to the Bormida Valley to discover the scenic and historical treasures of the Upper Langa, and to celebrate the day we will end with a hearty and convivial Langa-style snack.

The route

The route begins with a pleasant visit to the small and charming old town of Cravanzana, which runs along the ancient walls of the medieval castle and continues on the hazelnut trail.

The territory we will cross in the first part of the route is characterized by the presence of hazel groves and secluded forests where the precious and protected wild orchids bloom in spring.

These quiet, green hills are home to the largest hazelnut groves in the production area of the prized P.G.I. Piedmont hazelnut known as “tonda gentile trilobata delle Langhe.”

We continue along a ridge of great scenic beauty with a wide view of the Bormida Valley and arrived in the territory of Torre Bormida, lovely little village, and after admiring the valuable sandstone dry stone walls, we will go inside a charming and secluded forest composed of numerous specimens of downy oaks, which create a’wild and magical atmosphere, and of sylvan pine, whose resin scent Expands in the warm spring air.

The ancient walkway in the Forest Trail will lead us to the medieval gate of the village where the walls and ruins of the castle are still visible.

We will return to Cravanzana concluding a ring of great scenic and naturalistic interest .

The discovery of places unknown to mass tourism, the breathtaking views and the authenticity of the people and flavors make this excursion not to be missed!

After returning from the hike, in the afternoon Terre Alte offers, for those who wish, a delicious Easter Monday snack in the name of conviviality and authenticity of Langa flavors!

Program

Meet at 9:45 a.m. in Cravanzana (Cn) Via San Rocco,15 (parking piazzetta or in the driveway).

Departure 10:00 am.

Break for a light packed lunch at a scenic spot.

Loop route with return in the afternoon.

Snack time will take place at the end of the hike, and no car rides are provided.

In good weather the snack will take place outdoors, in bad weather inside a venue.
