Strawberry cake with Moscato sause


For the pastry

  • 200 g 00 flour
  • 50 g yellow flour
  • 125 g sugar
  • 125 g butter,
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 grated lemon peel
  • 1 dose of leaven
  • 15 strawberries

For the sauce

  • 5 egg yolks
  • 5 spoons of sugar
  • 1 dl cream
  • 1 handful of potato flour
  • 5 glasses of Moscato d’Asti


Prepare the pastry by mixing all the ingredients and not working it too much.

Put it in the fridge for at least twenty minutes, after having wrapped it in a cloth.

Int he meantime spread butter on the bottom and edges of ten little moulds, and then with yellow flour.

Put the pastry on the bottom and edges of the moulds, then place the chopped strawberries on it and cover them with the pastry.

Put sugar on them.

Put them in the oven for twenty minutes (160°C).

While the cakes are baking, prepare the sauce by beating the egg yolks along with the sugar and potato flour; then add cream and wine.

Cook the sauce until it boils. Serve the cakes tepid with the sauce.
