A route of great literary, landscape, historical and naturalistic interest in the hills narrated by the Alba writer Beppe Fenoglio.
As every year, Terre Alte proposes the April 25 walk in the places that served as the backdrop for the novel by the Alba writer Beppe Fenoglio: “Il Partigiano Johnny,” the hills of the Langa, the archangelic realm of the partisans.
The route touches numerous points of great literary interest where the events of the resistance and the peasant life of the “Malora,” realistically narrated by the writer, are intertwined.
And here are places such as the rittano, the Pilone del Chiarle, the Boscasso, the little church of Sant’Elena overlooking the Belbo Valley like a patient lookout, San Bovo di Castino, the Pavaglione, becoming places of a myth, places of narrative and historical reality.
Far from the tragic events of the war, the silent ridges, the small vineyards supported by the beautiful dry stone walls, the blooms of the undergrowth, the precious wild orchids and the panorama take on a meaning of great scenic beauty and peace.

Meeting at 9:30 a.m. at Manera di Benevello – Via Montemarino c/o Santissima Annunziata church parking lot.
Departure 09:45 am.

Return to cars in the afternoon.
