Bosca presents PalazzoIrreale, the first chapter of a contemporary art program to tell, through the eyes of artists, the cultural richness of Monferrato, Canelli and its Underground Cathedrals, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. First protagonist will be Patrick Tuttofuoco from Sept. 5 until Dec. 8. With a monographic exhibition, he traces the last 20 years of his activity in addition to a new site-specific work, created for the belvedere of the historic headquarters of the Bosca sparkling wine company. It is curated by Giorgio Galotti. The work, entitled
Shape shifting (2024), starts the
exhibition route that develops within the
production spaces, including
historical works by the artist from
private collections or from his
archive.Composed of the silhouettes of two intertwining arms,
Shape shifting overlooks the center of Canelli, offering the community a luminous sign, usable day and night, with the ambition of becoming a symbol for the territory.

Patrick Tuttofuoco

Patrick Tuttofuoco lives and works in Milan, where he was born in 1974.
His practice is conceived as a dialogue between individuals and their ability to transform the environment they inhabit.
He explores notions of community and social integration to combine animmediate sensory attraction with the power to trigger deep theoretical responses. Tuttofuoco in his practice pushes figuration into abstraction, usingman as the paradigm ofexistence, as the matrix and unit of measurement of reality. From this
interpretive and cognitive process, endless versions of man and the context of his existence arise, from which forms are generated that can animate the sculptures.

What is Bosca?

Bosca is an
excellence of the territory and a visionary sparkling wine house. Founded in
1831 a
Canelli, in the region of
Monferrato in Piedmont is also known for its famous wineries, the aforementioned Underground Cathedrals. It has built its identity over the years based on the concept of counter-trend, with an authentic cultural journey. Wanted by the Bosca Family, born from an idea of Polina Bosca and directed by Giorgio Galotti and Diana Berti, PalazzoIrreale aims to be a spatio-temporal connection point between history, identity, places and the future. The goal is to compose over time a collection that becomes part of the heritage of Monferrato, helping to bring proper attention back to these places.
In parallel, the path of PalazzoIrreale will be accompanied by the development of a photographic archive to keep track of the transformation of spaces and artists’ interventions.

PalazzoIrreale
