La Cantina
The philosophy of Monia Gabutti, owner of the educational farm is simple, but not at all trivial, and stems from a question:
how is it possible, in a land of farmhouses and countryside, that it’s easier for a child to see a zebra or a lion than to interact with a chicken or a piglet roaming free in a farmyard?
Cascina Gabutti is just that: a home open to children and to all those who wish to spend a few hours immersed in one of the most renowned areas of the Langhe, among the vineyards from which Barolo is born, in contact with domestic animals, the countryside and agri-food products.
Monia doesn’t consider the farm exclusively a job, but a lifestyle, a journey during which she is accompanied by her husband Valter, an expert in the agricultural world, and by all the animals that inhabit the farm: Zac the dog, the sweet donkeys, the piglets, and then ducks, geese, guinea fowl, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, budgies, and a family of peacocks.
Certifications
Cascina Gabutti is also a Campagna Amica Point, which guarantees the sale of strictly agricultural and Italian products, and is part of the Educational Farms of the Piedmont Region project.
It is also SQNPI certified, a ministerial quality mark for Sustainable Quality, and is therefore able to ensure the cultivation of products, in this case grapes, according to agronomic techniques that respect the environment and human health.
The farm also offers the possibility to organize educational activities and programs for schools, tailored according to the age of the students and the objectives of the field trip.

From egg to chick
An activity designed to allow children to observe the egg hatching process up close and discover the life cycle of animals through a direct and engaging experience.

August and September
Educational hazelnut harvest
The hazelnut grove of Albaretto della Torre reveals a different side of the Langhe compared to the vineyard: more intimate, quiet, and secluded. A place to experience close contact with the land.
It's a space that invites you to slow down, observe, and let yourself be guided by the rhythms of nature. The presence of rich biodiversity allows you to immerse yourself in the scents and landscapes of the territory.
The guided tour winds through hazelnut trees, woods, and small streams, culminating in the hazelnut harvest.
The experience concludes at the farm's house with a tasting. The activity is designed for visitors and groups and is not intended for schools.
Route through the vineyards
The vineyard tour allows you to discover the different growth stages of the vine and the work that accompanies them, while also offering a broader view of the territory the farm is part of.
Weather permitting, the visit continues among the rows, discovering sustainable viticulture that respects the landscape.
At certain times of the year, those seeking an authentic experience can also witness the usual work among the rows.
