L’Ortodellerose Guest House is located in the historic center of Alba a few steps from Via Vittorio Emanuele, the main street of the town.
The dwelling, owned by Paola Degiacomi, is a small oasis of peace: the garden and inner courtyard enclose the structure like a casket capable of guaranteeing silence and relaxation. A peaceful and familiar environment that offers guests all the comforts.
L’Ortodellerose also proves to be an excellent choice for business trips and long stays for families and groups. Moreover, in such a cozy environment even animals are allowed, indeed, they are welcome!
The favorable location, right in the center of the pedestrian island, makes it easy to get around on foot. All services are within easy reach: from the train and bus station to supermarkets, not forgetting the stores, bars, pizzerias, wine bars and restaurants that are some of the main reasons tourists choose this area of Piedmont.
L’Ortodellerose is the family home of Paola’s great-great-grandparents.
Careful rearrangement of the space has resulted in four rooms and an apartment. The soul remained the original one, with period flooring and furnishings, shelves and drawer units from Paola’s grandfather’s historic pharmacy, at the time the best known by the people of Alba.
This furniture, alternating with modern pieces, creates a successful shabby style that combines informal elegance, antiqued materials and a touch of romance.
Balance and overall well-being
For more than 20 years, Paola has been doing holistic activities in the field of active meditation, yoga, biodance, art therapy and counseling, moved by a desire to learn about the world of human relationships and personal growth.
A passion that over time has become part of her work and that she has decided to share with her guests.
Active meditation classes, individual or couple vibrational reflexology can be arranged upon request. The latter is a treatment that aims to restore the individual’s balance on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual, proving particularly effective in treating different ailments and contributing to the overall well-being of the person.

Visiting Alba and the Langhe
A UNESCO world heritage area for wine-growing landscapes
Alba is recognized as an important destination for lovers of food and wine culture. It is considered the capital of the Langhe, one of Italy’s most important wine regions, famous for the production of wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco and Nebbiolo.
Nutella and Ferrero are two names that have now entered the common lexicon: the historic Ferrero confectionery company, famous throughout the world, was born here.
The town also has a rich historical and cultural heritage, evidenced by a Roman and medieval past, with monuments such as the Cathedral of San Lorenzo (whose structure has a thousand-year history of Roman origin), medieval towers and the Gothic-style church of San Domenico.
Every year, in October and November, the International White Truffle Fair takes place, a festival full of gastronomic and cultural events celebrating local traditions, anticipated by the historical re-enactment and the Palio degli asini (Donkey Race).
UNESCO World Heritage Landscapes
Alba is surrounded by the hills of the Langhe, which, together with Roero and Monferrato, have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites for their wine-growing landscapes.
Every Saturday morning, the historic center hosts a large market, experienced by the population as an unmissable event.
For those who choose to stay at Ortodellerose, walking among the stalls in the narrow, winding streets, meeting the farmers who come down from the hills with the fruits of their labor, and buying local produce to cook can prove to be a fun experience to experience staying as a true local.
Paola is the neighbor who is always ready to make suggestions for making the most of your stay in Langa
