Tasting Le More Bianche

tasting of 5 wines + cold cuts and cheeses

Discover Alessandro Bovio's winery, where you can taste genuine wines under the centuries-old mulberry tree and learn about his way of managing the vineyard as naturally as possible

Le More Bianche, located in Magliano Alfieri, is the winery of Alessandro Bovio, a producer in Roero since 2013.

The winery’s name comes from the huge centuries-old mulberry tree that guards the cellar.

Both the mulberry tree and the panoramic terrace, overlooking Roero, the Langhe and the Alps, are the starting points for discovering Alessandro’s winery and his labels.

Driven by a deep sense of protection for his family and respect for the environment, Alessandro manages the entire production using organic methods, even though it is not certified.

All this is achieved by following the naturalness of the vineyard and implementing meticulous winemaking processes.

    Quality begins in the vineyard

Between September and October, you can witness the grape harvest, where the grapes are gently placed into special perforated red crates to preserve their integrity and prevent crushing.

Barbera d’Alba DOC is Alessandro's first love and the winery's signature wine

Alessandro uses the submerged cap maceration technique, allowing oxygen, alcohol, and time to favor the extraction of substances from the grape skins and pulp.

    Naturalness at heart

Every year, Alessandro sows herbaceous plants capable of attracting useful insects to create biodiversity: thus, crickets and other small insects reappeared as reminders of his childhood.

Le More Bianche

Discover the faces behind the experience

Le More Bianche, located in Magliano Alfieri, is the winery of Alessandro Bovio, a producer in the Roero since 2013.

He offers some of the area’s most representative wines: Barbera d’Alba, Roero Arneis, Nebbiolo and Roero DOCG.

Alessandro is a winemaker. Study experience at the Umberto I Wine Institute in Alba and a 20-year stint as a consultant allowed him to broaden his vision of the world of wine, culminating in the start of his own business.

Love of the earth gives good and genuine wines

The vineyards are cultivated under an organic regime, and all stages of work in the winery are personally supervised by the owner.

Fatherhood has strengthened in him a sense of protection towards his family, increasing respect for the environment and the land within which his children daily live and play.

All this is accomplished by indulging the naturalness of the vineyard and implementing meticulous winemaking processes. An uncompromising choice that has resulted in judgments of approval and recognition over the years.

I am Alessandro Bovio, farmer and winemaker. After 15 years of experience as a consultant for wineries, I decided to open my own small business where I could make wine the way I like it.

The name and the territory

As soon as you enter the gate, you can admire the huge centuries-old mulberry tree, whose small, sweet blackberries can be tasted in late spring when they reach full ripeness.

The same tree, guardian of the vines and the winery, can be found on the bottle labels as the company logo.

Both the mulberry tree and the panoramic terrace, with views of the Roero, the Langhe, and the Alpine range, are starting points for discovering Alessandro’s farm.
