The Prestige Tour offers an exclusive experience for fine wine lovers.

This tour includes a visit to the prestigious Underground Cathedrals, ancient cellars hand-carved into the sandstone rock that reach deep into the hillside.

True monumental works of art: galleries with brick vaults, corridors and large halls that maintain a constant temperature between 12 and 14 degrees, allowing the wines to age.

Additionally, you’ll be introduced to the winery’s history and wine production, with insights into Piedmont grape varieties, vineyard management, and traditional winemaking methods, leading up to the most anticipated moment: the guided tasting.

The tasting of 5 of the winery’s most prestigious wines is led by a professional sommelier and includes a taste of:

  • Alta Langa DOCG
  • Clelia Rosé Metodo Classico Spumante
  • Barolo del Comune di La Morra DOCG
  • Pomorosso Nizza DOCG

The historic Coppo cellars

The Coppo cellars were established in 1892 and are one of the oldest Italian wine-producing estates.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014, the cellars extend beneath the Canelli hill for approximately 5,000 square meters and reach, at their lowest point, 40 meters deep.

    UNESCO World Heritage underground cellars

    In the 18th century, those galleries and tunnels now known as the Underground Cathedrals were hand-carved into the tuff stone. They were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for their historical significance and beauty. Walking through them entirely, you can cross the entire hill, reaching the gallery where the sparkling wines rest.

    During the tasting, you'll have the chance to try some of the winery's most important wines: Barolo and different versions of Nizza DOCG, including Pomorosso, which owes its name to a red apple tree that stood at the top of the original vineyard. Without a doubt, it is the most prestigious Barbera produced by Coppo.
