Nizza DOCG

The Nizza DOCG appellation was born in 2014, recognizing the excellence of the Barbera grapes grown in this unique area.
The Nizza DOCG territory is an enchanting hilly landscape located in the Monferrato region, in northwestern Piedmont, characterized by limestone soils and a favorable climate.

Coppo’s Nizza vineyards are located in Agliano Terme, Castelnuovo Calcea, and Nizza Monferrato. Through a process of enhancing these three areas, the Riserva di Famiglia Nizza Riserva DOCG was born in 1998, and in 2017 the new single-area Nizza DOCG wines, Pontiselli and Bric del Marchese, were introduced.

The historic Coppo cellars

The Coppo cellars were established in 1892 and are one of the oldest Italian wine-producing estates.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014, the cellars extend beneath the Canelli hill for approximately 5,000 square meters and reach, at their lowest point, 40 meters deep.

True monumental works of art: galleries with brick vaults, corridors and large halls that maintain a constant temperature between 12 and 14 degrees, allowing the wines to age.

Hours and openings

Visits and tastings are available by reservation only. The wine shop is open every day from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for wine purchases.
