Free guided walks return to Serralunga d’Alba in 2026! Two different but complementary appointments, featuring curiosities and anecdotes told firsthand by Serralunga locals and interactive tours in search of the ingredients for Cugnà.

An opportunity not to be missed to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of this small village.

An invitation to discover Serralunga d’Alba

Serralunga d’Alba stands out on a narrow, elongated ridge of the Bassa Langa hills. Its medieval town center develops in two concentric circles that physically wrap around the castle, the undisputed emblem of the village.

The particular urban layout has created a network of narrow streets that open onto wide panoramic viewpoints. Here, the view stretches across the Langa, both Alta and Bassa, all the way to the Alps. The best vantage point? The castle, of course!

Serralunga Castle

2025 saw the birth of a valuable collaboration between the Municipality of Serralunga d’Alba, the Serralunga d’Alba ProLoco, and LoveLanghe with the opening of the info-point and the creation of two walks led by a tour guide—free of charge and designed to help people discover and get to know the village.

The collaboration continues in 2026 with a new calendar full of events to keep telling the story of the village!

The guided walks

What better way to get to know Serralunga than by walking? In recent years, outdoor tourism has seen rapid growth.

Due to the frantic pace of daily life, we increasingly feel the need to slow down and experience the outdoors as much as possible.

These experiences must be authentic and bring us into contact with the cultural identity of the place we are visiting, making us feel like an integral part of the local community.

These reflections led to the creation of the two guided walks. Both last about an hour, starting from Piazza Umberto I, in front of the Info-Point, and ending at the Castle.

“Strolling with the Locals” – 11:00 AM

In some ways, this is the more “classic” tour, but with a unique touch. Along with the tour guide, there is a local, a true Serralunghese, who will enrich the route with stories about daily life in the village and more!

Anecdotes and curiosities are the true stars of this tour: there are mentions of pallapugno, a deeply felt local sport, and the ancient tradition of winemaking, emblematic of one of the 11 Barolo municipalities.

Every tour is different; it changes depending on the local resident present and their personal experiences, as well as the interests of the audience.

What remains constant is getting in touch with the most genuine and authentic side of Serralunga.

Discovering Cugnà – 3:30 PM

The focus of the second walk is Cugnà, a Piedmontese grape must condiment made with late-summer farm produce leftovers.

This is a completely different experience from the previous one: it is an interactive and multimedia tour, available in both paper and digital versions via QR code.

Along the way, participants are asked to solve puzzles and riddles to identify the most common ingredients used in the preparation of Cugnà. As with almost all traditional recipes, there is never just one single shared recipe!

2026 has brought a great new feature: those who wish, once the tour is over, have the chance to taste the Cugnà at a symbolic cost of 3 euros per participant (minimum 2 people).

The proceeds will be entirely donated to the Serralunga ProLoco.
