Steps, leaves, thoughts: autumn between Serralunga and Fontanafredda

We welcome autumn walking through an enchanting landscape among the vineyards during the harvest, secluded groves and villages where history has left a charming and indelible mark.

The route

A journey through the golden atmospheres of the Langa: from the imposing profiles of the Castle of Serralunga to the timeless charm of the Narrated Village of Fontanafredda.

The meeting point is at the foot of the majestic Castle of Serralunga d’Alba, vertical guardian of the hills.

Among the warm autumn colors that are starting to light up the vineyards and the first scents of the season, we set off towards the valley until we reach the Bosco dei Pensieri, the last intact wood of the Langa del Barolo, for a relaxing walk among majestic trees and points of meditation.

The itinerary then leads us into the heart of the Tenimenti di Fontanafredda for a regenerating stop in the suggestive Narrated Village.

Among the historic nineteenth-century architecture, the ancient cellars and the anecdotes linked to the love story between King Victor Emmanuel II and the “Bela Rosin”, we enjoy the lunch break immersed in an atmosphere of other times.

Afternoon: the panoramic return to Serralunga.

Having recharged our energy, we resume the journey for the return.

We will return to the starting point along a “Serralonga”, a longitudinal panoramic ridge where the small hamlets and vineyards bear evocative names and the view of the Castle of Serralunga is priceless!

To end on a high note, we recommend a good glass of wine to be tasted while enjoying the sunset over the expanse of vineyards.

It is no coincidence that since 2014 these hills have become part of the UNESCO Heritage!

Excursion suitable for: those who want to start autumn in the name of well-being, beautiful scenery, a bit of culture and a bit of lightheartedness. Recommended for: groups of friends, families, couples and singles… the group is very heterogeneous!

Meeting at 9:45 AM at Serralunga d’Alba (Cn) Piazza Maria Capellano.

Lunch break in the Narrating Village by the lake; alternatively, or based on availability, you can taste a glass of good wine accompanied by a platter.
