Joseph Albanese

Among the most sought-after pianists of his generation, Giuseppe Albanese made his debut in 2014 on the Deutsche Grammophon label with a concept album entitled “Fantasia,” featuring music by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann.

This was followed in 2015 by his second DG album “Après une lecture de Liszt,” entirely dedicated to the Hungarian composer.

In March 2016, Decca Classics included his recording (world premiere) of the piece “Valtozatok” (Variations) in the box with Bartók’s complete works in 32 CDs. Recently released Liszt’s Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 and “Malédiction” for Universal Music.

January 2020 sees the release of his third CD for Deutsche Grammophon: “Invitation to the dance,” dedicated to ballet and containing music by Weber, Delibes, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Debussy and Ravel.

In recent times, Mº Albanese has distinguished himself by being invited to play in thirteen Italian opera foundations: the Petruzzelli in Bari, the Comunale in Bologna, the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Massimo in Palermo, the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, the Verdi in Trieste, the Fenice in Venice, and the Arena in Verona.
