On the occasion of the Snail Festival, the festival held this summer in Govone, Terre Alte offers you a pleasant walk on the picturesque and scenic hills in the southeastern sector of the Roero.
And at the end, for those who wish, dishes with snails, local and traditional specialties, good wine, beer and music all to dance to at the foot of the Castle.
Leaving in the late afternoon from the area where the paths marked by the Ecomuseum of the Rocche and the municipality begin, we will cross a silent and secluded valley that will lead us to the “Sentiero dei Castelli.”
We are on the rolling hills of the Roero that look, to the east to the course of the Tanaro River, and, to the west to the innermost part of the “Fini Inferiori.”
The landscape is gentle and varied, and at sunset the green meadows light up with warm and intense colors.
We will close the loop by crossing a bucolic landscape, among vineyards, meadows and orchards, enjoying the view of the impressive Castle and the historic center that develops at its foot.
The Castle It was one of the residences of the royal house of Savoy from 1792 to 1870, since 1997 it has been one of the buildings part of the site of the Savoy Residences inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

At the end of the walk you can participate in the village festival where you can enjoy your choice of the best traditional local food dishes offered by the proloco, there is singing and dancing with tribute to Cremonini, Mengoni, 883.

Meeting at 5:30 pm at Piazzale Cimitero di Govone Sp 235 Departure at 5:45 pm.
Upon return, those who wish can join the party under the castle and dine on traditional dishes of their choice.
