The Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno winery is a great example of the evolution of these lands, which have been capable of transforming their peasant nature into an asset of the utmost value.

Like many others in the Langhe area, the Borgogno family has a long dynasty of farmers and winemakers behind it, as well as historic vineyards, whose value today has greatly increased from its original value.

What distinguishes this company from others is the ability to preserve that genuine soul, full of love for the land, and to grow with it. Here, after over 120 years of wine production in one of the finest Barolo crus, the Borgogno family sees their fifth generation of exclusive family management, a warm welcome and a passionate production, in which every member of the family collaborates.

Furthermore, for two generations now, an all-female management has been chosen: Anna and Paola Borgogno initially, and Federica Boffa and Emanuela Bolla today.

One shared objective: to enhance and safeguard the authenticity of the vintage and of the individual vineyards, with the maximum respect for the terroir and biodiversity.

The Wines

A consolidated team, supported by a family where everyone puts their skills into play

In the vineyard as in the cellar, the memory of Serio & Battista Borgogno lives on, as they were able to pass on their love for this craft to their children, grandchildren, and so on.

Production is today overseen by Marco Bolla and his daughter Emanuela, who personally manage every stage with the precious help of the team, now an integral part of the family.

Since it is the Cannubi cru, one of the most renowned for Barolo production, it is no surprise that the company particularly cares about the health of its vineyards and their uniqueness: the goal is in fact to accompany the development of the grapes, altering them as little as possible.

For this reason, they mainly use copper and sulfur-based products and have eliminated weeding.

In the cellar, too, they try to minimize the influence on the final product: this is the reason behind the choice to use only large casks, excluding barriques.

There are several types of tasting, differing in duration, cost (starting from €20 per person) and samples, each accompanied by artisan breadsticks:

Additional activities

...and for those who would like to stay a little longer after the tasting and explore the area better...

As an alternative to the tour with tasting, there is the possibility to book two different additional activities, both useful for deepening your knowledge of the territory.

Cannubi Walk Experience

A guided path around the winery that can be explored independently, simple and suitable for everyone, will allow you to enjoy the splendor of the Cannubi Cru.
Using an illustrative and explanatory map, which will be handed out at the end of the tasting, you can discover anecdotes and curiosities about these prized vineyards.

The Cannubi cru

Cannubi is probably one of the most complex and fascinating crus in the Barolo area. The uniqueness of this vineyard is linked to its composition of fine sand and limestone, which combined with the microclimatic conditions and exposure give the wine fullness, elegance, finesse and longevity.
