The Flower Festival walk on the paths of Alta Langa

On the occasion of the “Flower Festival,” we will take you on a walk along the GtL (great crossing of the Langhe) on the scenic hills that divide the Belbo Valley from the Bormida Valley.

We will walk, the ridge paths traced by the ancient inhabitants of these hills, retrace the steps of ancient merchants and pilgrims.

Precious blooms, sandstone walls and buildings, small towered villages, and steep vineyards where only human hands can intervene make these hills of Alta Langa true places of the heart.

On the way there is a visit to the historic site of Bric Cisterna where the ruins of an ‘ancient medieval tower are still visible.

The return journey will touch an ancient medieval trail from which there are extensive views of the Bormida Valley.

We will return to Castino along a scenic loop with wide views of the Belbo Valley.

The flower festival and photo exhibition

During the day it will be possible to visit the photo exhibition of wild orchids by Giampiero Murialdo.

On the way back to Castino you can walk through the picturesque streets of the old town embellished, on the occasion of the festival, with colorful blooms and enlivened by cheerful music.

You can enjoy delicious hot friciule, fresh craft beers and taste other typical Alta Langa products on the stalls.

Inside the Tribola Church, visitors will be able to admire Giampiero Murialdo’s beautiful photos of numerous species of wild orchids found in the Langa area.
