Returning again this year for Halloween night is the appointment with thrills at the Castiglia of Saluzzo.
Saturday, October 31, starting from 8:30 PM, Mu.sa. – Musei di Saluzzo, in collaboration with the Primoatto APS theatre company, proposes an interactive theatrical walk through the halls of the Saluzzo manor.
The theme of the walk will be that of the “masche”, the witches of Piedmontese folkloric tradition, linked in particular to the peasant culture of the Langhe, Monferrato, Roero, and Canavese.
Unlike the witches of classical myth, the masca was not an abstract entity, but often a common woman of the village, elderly, solitary, or a keeper of ancient herbal knowledge, believed to be endowed with magical powers.
Along the path of the walk, the audience will find themselves catapulted into a trial of a masca, the masca Micilina, guilty of having brought terror to the village.
At the end of the walk, the audience will then transform into judges and, having heard all the testimonies, must decide the end of the story and the outcome of the trial, becoming protagonists of the affair themselves.
