The Langa to be discovered. the belvedere trail and aperitif among the vineyards

Montelupo is the gateway to the Alta Langa.

A place where the hills become higher and border the wildest Langa, the precious orchids are dressed in the most varied colors, and the landscape becomes a sea of silence and scents.

The Pathway and Spring Atmospheres

Our route unfolds in the Langa territory of Montelupo, a small town that, from its 564 m altitude, dominates like a lookout over the entire Langa, the Roero in the distance and finally the Alps to frame the immense sea of hills.

Montelupo an evocative name reminiscent of how these hills and hidden valleys were frequented by wolves who may, according to some witnesses, have returned to take possession of their former territory.

No fear the wolf is shy and shy and will not be seen!

The forest on the Rio Marroni, the longitudinal hill of Serra dei Pini, the more scenic hill of Bricco dello Stornello, and then small abandoned and dormant hamlets will be the places we will pass through on our hike.

Sometimes it is possible to meet somewhat peculiar characters on our path sometimes you don’t meet a soul because these hills, these small paths are not very well known, they are paths suitable for those who love nature, silence, the scent of spring blooms that spreads in the air.

Spontaneous Orchids

Exploring hidden meadows and secluded woods, we will have a chance to admire the flowering of wild Orchids.

Precious blooms find their ideal habitat in these places. Viewpoints, small hamlets and an area of unspoiled nature will be the theme of the route that will lead us back to the village.

The aperitif on the panoramic terrace

Back in the village in the afternoon, after finishing the loop, those who wish can taste the wine produced on these hills at a family-run winery in the Montelupo area: the Oriolo Winery.

In a very scenic location surrounded by vineyards, visitors can admire a wide panorama and enjoy excellent wine accompanied by local cheeses and cold cuts.

Four wines will be offered for tasting: 2 whites and 2 reds.

In good weather the tasting will be held outdoors on the rooftop terrace, otherwise inside the winery in a very cozy environment.

It is possible to purchase the winery’s wines, which present excellent value for money.

The tasting will feature 4 of the winery’s top wines accompanied by cured meats, cheeses and breadsticks.
