The abode

A stately, elegant, luxurious and private home. A beauty that does not need to be exhibited, but which is discovered little by little, walking along the corridors, climbing the stairs, entering thesuffused atmosphere of the rooms. Approach the windows and pull back the curtains: you will find yourself immersed in a gentle hilly landscape, from which emerge the imposing elliptical dome of the Sanctuary of Vicoforte, the Convent of the Cistercian Monks, and the Palazzata that surrounds the perimeter of the parvis.

Castle and Museum

Built around the year 1000, it is located in the historic village of Mombasiglio, in a scenic area.
In 1796 Napoleon’s armies, commanded by General Seurener, were housed there, and today the second floor houses the Bonaparte Museum, which houses the most extensive collection of prints, original etchings by Giuseppe Pietro Bagetti on Napoleon’s First Italian Campaign.
Visits to Mombasiglio Castle and the General Bonaparte Museum will be possible until Sept. 29 with the following hours: Saturday: 2 p.m. → 6 p.m. (last entry 5 p.m.), Sunday and holidays: 10 a.m. → 6 p.m. (last entry 5 p.m.).
