An unforgettable hike across the scenic hills of the Alta Langa, between history and nature, just a stone’s throw from the passes leading to the sea, along ancient paths where the air smells of aromatic herbs. Waiting for us in Murazzano is a festival with a medieval flavor!

An alternation of panoramic ridges, woods, and meadows offering spectacular views over the Belbo and Tanaro Valleys. Hills of pastures and stories. Not to be missed!

An unmissable excursion that starts from the wild hills of the Bossolasco area and develops partly along the GtL trail (Great Crossing of the Langhe) and the “AltraVia” path, following the ridge section of the Passo della Bossola, one of the most scenic spots in the entire region! The route mostly passes through shady and wooded areas with openings onto ridges located between 500-780 m in altitude.

The route and the territory

We are on the hills where excellent P.D.O. cheeses are produced, where the Langhe sheep, a native breed of the territory, enjoys the green pastures nestled on the hillsides.

The Murazzano area also inspired the most touching stories of “Fenoglian” fiction: “L’Addio” and “La sposa Bambina”.

We will reach the village of Murazzano for our lunch break, a true treasure chest of historical and landscape beauty.

On the occasion of the “Murazzano Medievale” festival, the charming historic center of the village is transformed into a real medieval village, offering visitors an immersive experience among historical camps, shows, period flavors, and curiosities from the past.”

As an alternative to a packed lunch, it is possible to enjoy grilled meat in the gardens of Palazzo Tovegni without a reservation, prepared by Macelleria Fabio Gourmet with drinks served by the Murazzano Pro loco, or enjoy a dish based on typical products accompanied by a good glass of wine at Cafè Gianduja.

After visiting the village’s attractions, we will resume our walk, looking out over the infinite profile of the hills of a Langa of timeless beauty.
