The territory and the route

Terre Alte offers you a hike of great scenic and naturalistic interest that takes in the hills of Canale, Montà d’Alba and touches the territory of Cisterna d’Asti. On the well-exposed and sunny slopes the great and historic wines of Roero are born, near the “rocche” fracture the landscape becomes wild and silent.

Secluded deciduous forests alternate with old and imposing chestnut groves, and the steep walls lay bare the sandy soils of the Astiano.

The hike will touch some sites of special naturalistic significance, small preserved and protected ecological areas.

The aperitif at Ciabot and the wines of the area

On the way back, for those who wish, with a shift of a few kilometers we can enjoy an aperitif with quality products at the “Ciabot,” a truly unique and picturesque location.

Aperitif roerino based on:

• cheeses of the “Shepherds of the Roero”
• traditional fritters
• homemade focaccia
• trifoliated organic zucchini
• raw saleme
• selection of local wines
