Roero

  • The town is divided in three centers: Borbore, located in the plain crossed by the Alba-Turin road, Borgonuovo, the most recent part of town and Villa, the oldest part, perched on the top of a hill that falls steeply in the valley below.

  • The landscape that surrounds Pocapaglia is one of the most evocative of Roero: all around the village you'll see ravines, gullies and cliffs that form the famous "Rocche".

  • Sanfrè stands at the foot of a hill, just 2 kilometers from Sommariva del Bosco. The village is dominated by the castle from the 13th century, today completely renovated after a fire from 1500.

  • Piobesi is the smallest town of Roero, both for the territory and for the number of inhabitants. Its economy is predominantly agricultural and artisanal.

  • The center is dominated by the imposing castle with a powerful system of walls. This is home to the Museum of Arts and Crafts of the past.

  • The territory of the Municipality of Ceresole is very extensive and partly covered with woods renowned for the wealth of mushrooms and wild animals.

  • The castle of Monticello - Example from the Middle Ages

The castle of Monticello is one of the most impressive and best preserved medieval buildings in Piedmont. It belongs to the Roero family since 1372 and was recently opened to the public.

  • The town, characterized by the crenellated medieval tower, is located in a wonderful panoramic position: from here the scenery opens onto the long and marvelous hills of Langhe and Roero.

  • The village is located at the top of a steep hill dominated by the castle. The vineyards that cover the hills are renowned for their great quality.

  • Built on the top of one of the Rocche, Baldissero is a rural town: here strawberries are grown, along with the grapes with which two great wines are made, Roero and Arneis.

  • The town stretches on the top of the Rocche. The ancient thirteenth-century tower has been halved today because the cliff on which it stands has become so thin that it makes the structure unsafe.
