Paths of...Wines. From the castle of Grinzane Cavour to the estates of Fontanafredda

On the occasion of the Albese event Vinum Terre Alte offers you a romantic excursion to the hills where the great wines of the area come to life.

We will narrate the story of important people who lived during the nineteenth century, their contributions to the area, customs and adventures.

We will leave from the imposing Grinzane Castle and travel through the scenic hilly areas that give rise to the area’s fine wines: silent, sun-drenched ridges where the grapes of the “sorì” and the precious nebbiolo used by Barolo ripen.

For lunch break we will reach the Fontanafredda Estates Park by walking through the “forest of thoughts.”

The estate, adelightful place surrounded by greenery, preserves the secrets of the passionate love story of King Victor Emmanuel and the Bella Rosin but, also the historical evidence of one of the most important wine producers of the 19th century .

Inside the Estates, at the Bottega del Vino, you can taste the winery’s wine.

Walking along the path of the “Experimental Vineyards” (of great oenological interest) and the very scenic walk of the “Vigna del Conte” we will return to the starting place in Grinzane Cavour.

Storytelling: a special opportunity to explore the area accompanied by a guide who will lead you to discover the characters and history of these enchanting places.

The proposals of Terre Alte

At the end of the excursion, you can take part in the Vinum event in Alba, visit the Castle and the Regional Enoteca, enjoy a good glass of wine in the premises at the foot of the Castle or at the Castle cafeteria-the choice is yours!

Recommended for: cheerful people, companies of friends, families with children 7 years and older (used to walking), singles and singles, couples…..and anyone who would like to spend a relaxing day outdoors, in good company and get to know the area in 360 degrees.
